And, yes, I have been guilty of posting exclusively on the Fiber Millstress site instead of here.
But I am back!
Claire and Riley have been going to the mill with me everyday. Most days, I will be leaving the house around 7 and not returning until later than their bladder capacity can handle. And the kids will be taking the bus out there starting sometime in March.
It is a little cold in the mill. Concrete floors, minimal heat sources. It is particularly rough on Claire. Most parts of her rotund little body are incredibly close to the cold floor. And they are alert a lot more during the day. So, so tiring.
Claire will decide to put herself to bed when she is tired. Her bed is in Brigid's room and it is very easy to hear her clanking (dog tags) up the wooden stairs. Tonight, she took herself up at 6:30! Really. We did not even leave for the mill today until 9:20. And we left at 3:40. Definately not a full day! But Yogi, Craigs dog, was there as were Kate and Ava, Jen's dogs.
So she goes clanging up the stairs tonight. Then she starts whining....and whining....and whining...she can not make it down the stairs alone (stair width to body ratio completely off) and since she is a companion dog, she at times fully expects that her going upstairs is a signal for the rest of us to join her. So, I finally go storming up the stairs yelling "Claire, what is wrong with you??"
And then I see it. Brigids door is closed. Claire can not get to her bed. No, my room (where Riley's bed is) is wide open. But she must have been really really tired, cause that just wasn;t good enough for her.
So I snuck in and took a picture of her. She didn;t even miss a snore....
zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
Yes, Claire does have an alpaca mustache in this photo.....She and Yogi are highly interested in playing in fuzz. Riley is not. But there will be no destroying of peoples orders...or else...Update: Claire slept till about 8:30 pm, whined to be carried down, went outside, slept again until 10:00 and had to be waken up to go to bed. She is still snoring away, which is unusual for lately.
