I finished the warp yesterday. I got 4 large bags and 15 placemats out of it. Mac and I are field testing placemats for durability and stainability. I did soak white loops in coffee and tomato sauce the other day out of curiousity. Amazingly, they did not stain but with my luck, they will when used! Above is a present for a friend (who hopefully is not paying any attention to this blog right now!). It has pockets on both sides of the exterior and one sent on the inside. The straps are belts from Goodwill that were $1 each (much cheaper than buying belting material). Plus you get neat hardware. The straps are adjustable. The second px is with the bag holding 8.5 lbs of stuff (not easy to take a px of yourself in a mirror wearing your jammies....) These bags can hold quite a bit. I am sending Di the first big bag (the one that went to Philly) to test as a softball bag. Next warp will be for larger bags (16w x 15 h x 7deep) that do not require as much sewing as the one above. Lynda is coming down for a visit with her girls Sun, April 5 so if you have a supply of bags and want a cheap way to get them here, get them to Di /Lynda in ER!

I have a bag from the first warp I love. And I really love the one I had (and sent to Di today) that was the size of this one. I have another I need to put straps on for me that is the same size but no pockets. I am hoping to get a warp started on the loom tomorrow. Thought we would have dinner on the new placemats but everyone was going in all directions this evening and dinner was a scattered affair. Maybe tomorrow.....

I love the idea of using belts from thrift shops for the handles. Let me know if you need me to scout out any articles you need...I'm always in thrift shops.

I am not the best shopper although I do go to Goodwill more now as it is Z's favorite store! I am going to put on a red, white and blue warp today or tomorrow. If you see anything neat, go ahead!
