My cellphone has tried to commit suicide twice in one week. The first time it fell into the sink and got wet. I took it apart, used the hairdryer and life was fine. Tues of this week it jumped out of my purse and fell into the dogbowl. Wet, wet, wet. When I took it apart and dried it with the hairdryer, it told me the battery was invalid.
Dumb as it sounds, Tim told me to put it in a tupperware type container with rice (uncooked). Take the battery out first. Leave it for a few days. I even threw the battery in the container. I do have a rice kernal inside the phone as I did not put the back back on.
After a couple of hours, it would turn on but I could not use any buttons for contacts, menu, etc. If I tried for contacts, the speaker phone went on. When I tried to use #2 to speed dial Tim, it threw 5 numbers (no 2s) up. I could not select any numbers for dialing purposes.
Three days later, it is working just fine. How long will it last? I have no idea. But I will keep using it. So don;t throw out your wet phones. Rice and tupperware. If it works, great. If not, yo uare no worse off than before.
