I had 9-10 weavers every afternoon. Interesting when there are only 6 floor looms...but we shared, we assisted, we did fine. My youngest weavers were 7 (x2) and the oldest of the tweens was 12. There were also 3 adults in the class. Weaving on a floor loom is so much easier for everyone (if you pre-warp the looms, which I did). You get to use your hands and feet and it is so nice. There is nothing more frustrating to me than the old pot holder looms (but that is my personal opinion....). Everyone was very impressed with the results of this class. We wove with vcr tape, eyelash yarn, "regular" yarn and rags (we made a great set of 4 rag rug placemats and a runner which went at auction for $100 total!) Even the music instructors in our section (Betty, Tom and Norm) got into weaving. Norm, an all around excellent musician who worked with the students on mountain dulcimer all week, wove almost 4 placemats by himself in 4 hours!! You never know until you try!
