I spent some time this morning hemming towel edges and sending thngs through the washer / dryer. The results are nice as fabric! The truth is, I have not used any of the towels as towels yet! The last towels I did I have been using for 10 years (JoJo - are you using yours??) and they are still great. Above you see a bit of color and pattern study. The warp was 1" of green 1" of red/purple (hence the stripes). There are three towels in huck (bottom left-ish). From bottom to top, woven with red/purple, woven with both for checks and woven with green. Brigid liked plain weave so I did a piece with red/purple weft (bottom right) and woven with green. Bamboo is being touted as the new, eco-friendly, sustainable fiber. I am not sure how eco-friendly the processing of it is (no one ever mentions that!) but it requires chemicals, so.... Face it, cotton is eco-friendly! Tencel and rayon are also made from natural fibers but are chemically altered at some point in the process as well. Bamboo is supposed to be anti-bacterial. So I do not feel environmentally bad for loving the yarn and the towels.

I use my towels as napkins, they come out of the dryer wrinkle free, soft and ready to use again.
