Today, the flooring guy (#2) actually showed and was full of good advice. Even better, he & his company are one Harry-O has worked with in the past and come highly recommended. The good news is the craft room and hallway are going to get the floating vinyl we wanted and the family room is going to get carpeted (who knew)! The quasi-bad news is that the economy has apparently forced people to not take vacations and to actually fix up their houses, so no installation is slated to occur until Mon, Oct 6. If a cancellation occurs, we may get stuff earlier.

So, we went and bought new doors (exterior and storm) and got the main door installed today. Please meet Harry-O, who has been working very hard and diligently, doing an excellent job on everything from mudding to tiling to door installation. Tomorrow we finish the door area with a storm door, casing, etc. With the time left prior to flooring, we have no excuse to not get all the touch up and prep done downstairs. We may start moving a few things down this weekend, as they long as they can be moved easily when it is time for flooring.
